The Cleveland Roller Mill

The Cleveland Roller Mill, located two miles southwest of the village of Mora on Hwy 518, was the last flour mill to be built in New Mexico, the last to stop running and the only roller mill in New Mexico with its original milling works. This hardworking mill ground out 50 barrels of wheat flour a day, almost every day from 1901 to 1947. The mill was converted into a museum with exhibits on Mora County history and culture. An annual Millfest on Labor Day weekend features arts and craft, music and dances.

$2 adults, $1 children 6-17, under 6 free Open Memorial Day through October 31, 10am to 5pm and by appointment.

Coyote Creek State Park is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Private campsites are scattered along the creek, which is sheltered by cottonwood trees and willow plants. The park's refreshing temperature offer relief during the height of New Mexico's summers.

The lake's serene waters are open for fishing year-round. Storrie Lake boasts consistent winds that provide excellent conditions for sailing and windsurfing. Birdwatching is a must in order to view the geese and ducks that flock to the lake during seasonal migrations. Follow walking-trails through sagebrush-covered landscape spotted with cactus, yucca and wildflowers. Storrie Lake State Park is four miles north of Las Vegas via NM 518..


Morphy Lake State Park

Surrounded by lush pine forest, the park lies close to the Pecos Wilderness and has plenty of camping and picnicking sites. The lake is stocked with trout and is a great place to launch a canoe or kayak, while a hiking trail around the lake provides access for anglers. Hidden among a forest of pine trees, Morphy Lake State Park is found at the end of a 3-mile road that recently has been paved to accomodate visitors who do not have a high terrain vehicle. Located in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, privacy is easily found throughout this secluded park.

This small, scenic lake is stocked with trout and also is popular for kokanee salmon snagging. Boating is limited to electric motors and camping vehicles are restricted to 18-feet and under. Picnic sites are furnished with tables and fireplaces, but no drinking water.Visitors are reminded this is a PACK-IN, PACK-OUT park.

Morphy Lake State Park is seven miles south of Mora on N.M. 94 and four miles west on a newly-paved access road. .
